Sometimes all it takes is a clap… That extra little detail to keep the rhythm moving. That extra little spice to get people moving. In the case of Kito Jempere’s 2014-released ‘Gas Station’, it was exactly what was needed. According to Kito’s longstanding friend, collaborator and fellow Russian Lipelis anyway…

It took five years for them to agree on this. But now, as we wrap up 2019, one of the warmest tracks from Kito’s debut album ‘Objects’ gets the clap Lipelis always thought it needed. The big drum brushstrokes of the original and that gradual but full-strength jazz explosion are still fully kept in-tact but that extra detail gives it a new lease of life and a new nom-de-plume: ‘Gas Station Salad’, a name inspired by a menu in a diner they shared during the Red Bull Music Academy 2013.

For added wholesome goodness, this salad is mixed with two classic ingredients in the form of two original remixes from 2015. Arsenii’s vibrant horn-laced tropical dream-a-thon and Juju & Jordash’s deep hypnotic exploration that sucks you right beyond the gas station to the fields and hills that lay behind it.

Sometimes all it takes is a clap. But we think this deserves a full round of applause.
